From the good boys at the WEC. Wait to go, Tory-Girl! Take that (not so) Little Orange Woods Machine and shake some things up in the A Class.
For Immediate Release - 03/11/10
World Enduro Canada is pleased to announce their support and partnership of Motoress an organization dedicated to women motorcyclists. Women are becoming more involved with motorcycling and motorcycle racing. Last season we had 4 women compete in the Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championship with Victoria Hett winning the Women's Championship. She was so fast that this year she has decided to jump to the A class and mix it up with the guys!
Motoress has a beautiful, professional site www.motoress.com that is filled with stories of racing accomplishments, rides geared to women, riding techniques, motorcycles tests and and online shop for ladies apparel and gear. They have a write up on Victoria and over the course of the season will be documenting the accomplishments of women competing in all of the various WEC series.
They are a supporter of the International Female Ride Day on Friday May 7 when there will be a number of special events planned for female motorcyclists around the world.
YOU GO GIRLS!!
And keep checking for updates as we get closer to the date, but I'm sure we'll have some events in Canada for IFRD on the 7th of May. Also, keep checking in for updates on the CEC adn Xtinction, as well as up dates on Canada's first women's ISDE team!
You can check out the WEC's website and Victoria Hett's awesome blog here and here.

Movie Madness!
For those of you who aren't in the know, Canada's very own Shane Cuthbertson is becoming quite the little movie star. Featured in several Throttle Entertainment productions, including the new Erzberg film.
Here's what Shane has to say:
Hey all,
Check out the latest Extreme Off-Road video depicting the nearly impossible to finish Erzberg. Unfortunately, I was one of the many not to finish after having a run-in with some rebar that mangled my bike, however just seeing the trailer makes me realize how magnificent this event really is!
Send the link to those that might be interested; the Throttle Entertainment guys are awesome, travel the world to bring these videos into our homes, and are great ambassadors of our sport!

Regards,
Shane Cuthbertson
So check out the site, take a look around, buy a DVD or two, I promise they're worth it! Personally, I'm missing the 09 Hell's Gate and Roof of Africa, but they're on order. Throttle Entertainment make excellent films, with great music, phenominal cinematography and rider interviews. Their focus seems to be as broad as the sport's talent pool, not simpl.y covering the big names, but the up and comers, the international head turners (such as Shane) and the big surprises. For those who are into moto-history, Malcolm Smith (yes, THE Malcolm Smith) is even in the movie! His son competes in the team challenge and does quite fell for himself, if I remember correctly.
The spring has finally hit southern Ontario, and that last dumping of snow we got last weekend is going to be melting away pretty soon. The Toronto Supercross is just around the corner, and the itch to ride is getting all but unbearable. Watching some crazy brave men, AND WOMEN!, riding taking on the Iron Giant will get the blood and oils pumping for sure.
The season will be back in full swing before you know it! Stay tuned for updates, previews and news!
